Homemade Strawberry Pop Tarts

This homemade strawberry Pop Tarts recipe is even better than everyone's childhood favorite. It's sweet, delicious, and so easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 box refrigerated pie crusts pre-made, with 2 pie crusts
  • 1 cup strawberry jam or fruit jelly or jam of your choice
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 teaspoon milk
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Get out and measure your ingredients.
  2. Preheat oven to 425ºF.
  3. Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  4. Lay pie crusts on a nonstick surface.
  5. Using a pizza cutter, cut 3” x 5” rectangles.
  6. Place the first 8 on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Spoon your fruit jelly onto each rectangle.
  8. Spread jam to about ½ inch from the edges.
  9. Place the next 8 rectangles on top.
  10. Using a fork, seal all four edges of each pop tart.
  11. Pierce center area three times to vent baking pop tarts.
  12. In a small bowl, whisk egg and brush it on all 8 pop tarts.
  13. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow pop tarts to cool prior to icing them.
  14. In a small mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar and milk. If it is too thin, add more powdered sugar. If it is too thick, add more milk.
  15. Drizzle frosting over top of pop tarts.
  16. Add sprinkles.
  17. Serve and enjoy every bite!
