Homemade Tartar Sauce

Homemade tartar sauce is bright, tangy, and so easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon minced white onion
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 to 4 dashes Tabasco sauce optional

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, relish, minced onion, lemon juice, dijon mustard, and dried dill.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Add Tabasco sauce if using and stir until well combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • We’ve kept this recipe super basic, but if you like capers in your tartar sauce, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of drained capers.
