Homemade Turkey Sausage Patties

These Homemade Turkey Sausage Patties are the freaking BEST! They're made with simple ingredients and taste way better than store bought, super juicy and pack so much flavor! Plus, they're easy to make and are freezer-friendly!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey sausage
  • 2 tsp poultry seasoning or use a mix of dried thyme + rubbed sage
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes*

  1. Whisk the spices together in a medium bowl first. Add the sausage and work the spices into the sausage until evenly mixed in. Cover and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes if time allows so the flavors come together more. 
  2. Divide the turkey mixture into 10 pieces and use your palms and fingers to shape into patties. Flatten to about 1/2-thickness (press them smaller than you want them to be because they will rise when cooked).
  3. Set the skillet to medium heat and spray with cooking spray. Add sausage patties and cook for 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until no longer pink. Then transfer to a plate to rest.

Notes

  • *adding 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes doesn’t make this sausage spicy, just gives it a touch of heat. So if you want a little more spice, up it to 1/2 tsp. On the flip side, if you’re sensitive to spice you can take it down to 1/8 tsp or omit completely.
