Homemade Tzatziki Sauce with Feta and Avocado
This homemade tzatziki sauce with feta and avocado is the perfect addition to your Greek meal. This cool, crisp Greek accompaniment pairs well with whatever Mediterranean dish you have on the menu today.
Ingredients
- 1 cucumber or ½ regular, mini
- 6 ounces yogurt plain, Greek
- ¼ cup feta cheese crumbled
- ½ avocado diced
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon dill chopped, fresh
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Slice the cucumber in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds, if using a full-sized cucumber. Discard the seeds. If using a mini cucumber just rinse and dice.
- Combine the avocado with the yogurt and mix to combine. For smoother sauce, mash and mix the avocado well, or leave diced for a chunkier sauce.
- After dicing the cucumber, place in a mixing bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Mix together the avocado yogurt in the bowl with the other ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate until needed, at least 30 minutes but does better chilled for at least 4 hours.
