Honey BBQ Chicken Wings
Honey BBQ Chicken Wings are seasoned with a dry rub of kosher salt, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper, then baked until golden and slightly crisp. A homemade sauce made from traditional barbecue sauce, honey, and fresh lime juice is combined to coat the cooked wings, providing a balance of sweet, tangy, and smoky flavors. This recipe creates tender wings with a flavorful glaze suitable for casual meals or gatherings.
Ingredients
For the wings:
- 4 lbs. chicken wings patted dry
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
For the BBQ sauce:
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce traditional
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons lime juice fresh
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and set a heat-proof wire rack inside.
- In a small bowl, combine the salt, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Rub the seasonings evenly onto the chicken wings and arrange them on the wire rack, skin side up, making sure the wings aren’t touching. You might have to use two pans, depending on the size of your wings.
- Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until chicken wings are cooked through and light golden brown.
- While the wings are in the oven, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, and lime juice in a large bowl. Stir until well combined. Serve and enjoy!
