Ingredients

Marinade:
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • lime juice from ½ a lime
  • white pepper pinch
Shrimp:
  • 1 tbsp butter or vegetable oil
  • 8 oz Shrimp uncooked, thawed
  • 2 green onions sliced on the diagonal
  • sesame seeds toasted, to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Make some garlic rice. (Click the link for the recipe).
  2. Make the marinade by combining the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and white pepper together; whisk until well combined.
  3. Pour half of the marinade over the thawed shrimp and allow it to marinate for 20-30 minutes. Set aside the reserved marinade for later.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the marinade and shake off excess liquid very well. Discard marinade.
  5. Heat the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the hot pan and sear on one side for 1 minute then flip them over and sear on the other side for about 45 seconds. Remove from the skillet.
  6. Add the reserved marinade to the hot skillet and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring often for about 2-3 minutes, or until reduced and thickened.
  7. Add the shrimp back to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly in the sauce.
  8. Serve the honey garlic shrimp over steamed rice then top with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy.
