Honey Orange Chicken

Honey Orange Chicken – skillet chicken with savory, sweet and tangy honey orange sauce. Easy recipe, takes 20 mins, great for dinner!

Ingredients

  • 5 chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon Asian cooking wine sake or Chinese rice wine, optional
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • Chopped Parsley Leaves for garnishing
  • white sesame seeds for garnishing
Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons honey or more to taste
  • 1-2 teaspoons bottled garlic chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or more to taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Debone the chicken thighs, keeping the skin on. Add the cooking wine and soy sauce to the chicken, and stir to combine well.
  2. Add all the ingredients for the Sauce and whisk to combine well. Set aside.
  3. Heat a skillet and pan-fry the chicken skin side down. Turn it over and pan-fry both sides until browned. Transfer the chicken to a serving platter. Add cooking oil to the skillet and sauté the garlic until slightly browned. Return the chicken to the skillet, followed by the Sauce.
  4. Turn the heat to low and let the sauce cook until it reduces slightly. Top the chicken with parsley and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You may cook the chicken without removing the bones. You can follow my post and video on " How to Debone Chicken Thighs ." You may also use boneless and skinless chicken thighs or breasts for this recipe.
