Hot Dog Chili Recipe

This is such an easy recipe! The longest step is simmering the chili, which is how you get deep, rich flavors. Other than that, once the chili is cooked, it’s ready to serve over your favorite hotdogs.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white onion finely minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Over medium high heat in a large pot, brown the ground beef and crumble as small as you can. Drain and add back to the pot.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir.
  3. Turn the stove to low and simmer for 30‐40 minutes stirring occasionally. Add water or ketchup if it thickens too much.
  4. Serve chili over hot dogs.

Notes

  • The recipe can be easily doubled for larger crowds.
