Ingredients

  • 1 shot whisky (good quality)
  • 1 Tbsp honey (or 1-2 tsp of brown sugar)
  • 1 cup water (or fill your glass or cup as desired)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Boil the water.
  2. Put the whisky into the glass.
  3. Add the honey or brown sugar.
  4. Pour in some of the boiled water and stir to melt the sweetener.
  5. Add more water as desired. Drink hot.

Notes

  • For a proper Scottish hot toddy, use a crystal glass and silver spoon. Put the spoon inside the glass whilst pouring the hot water so the glass doesn't break.
  • Use good quality Scotch whisky.
  • Add lemon juice, a cinnamon stick, cloves, or use rum or brandy instead of whisky, for alternative toddies.
