Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli cut
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons salt optional

  1. Cut your head of broccoli into equally sized florets and wash thoroughly.
  2. Fill a large pot with the water and add salt to taste.
  3. There should be enough water to cover all the broccoli. 
  4. Bring the water to a boil. In a separate bowl, fill with water and ice.
  5. Add the broccoli florets to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the broccoli and immediately place it into the ice water.
  7. This will stop the cooking process and preserve the vibrant green color. Remove the broccoli from the ice water once cool.
