Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked brown rice well rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine the rinsed brown rice, water, and olive oil in a medium-sized pot. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Once boiling, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, then reduce the heat to low. Allow the rice to simmer for 45 minutes without lifting the lid.
  3. After 45 minutes, turn off the heat. Let the rice sit, still covered, for 10 minutes to absorb any remaining steam and moisture.
  4. Fluff the cooked brown rice with a fork to separate the grains and serve.
