How to Cook Canned Yams on the Stove

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs real butter
  • 1 15 oz can of yams drained
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbs heaping brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • Pinch cayenne optional
  • Pinch of pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter in the bottom of the pan.
  2. Add the canned yams, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, salt, lemon juice, cayenne and pepper.
  3. Stir gently and continue to heat until heated through stirring frequently (5-7 minutes).
