How to Cook Jasmine Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt plus more to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse 1 cup of jasmine rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, mix the rinsed rice with the measured water and add salt.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
  4. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and let it simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let the rice stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm.
