Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked quinoa
  • 1 ¾ cups water or broth
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place the quinoa in a fine mesh sieve; Rinse thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear to remove any residue off the quinoa; drain.
  2. Transfer the drained quinoa to a small saucepan and add water or broth and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Lower heat to a simmer, cover the saucepan with a lid and cook covered for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Allow the quinoa to rest in the saucepan for about 5 minutes, without opening the lid, to absorb all the liquid and steam. Uncover and fluff with a fork to separate the quinoa.
  5. Use in a recipe or transfer to a storage container for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container. They will last up to 5 days in the fridge.
