Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour or more
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ½ cup water or more
  • cornstarch add as needed

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Sift flour into a large bowl. Add salt and mix.
  2. Add beaten egg yolk, mix well. Gradually pour water. Mix in between additions to prevent it from becoming too watery. Gather the mixture then form in a dough. Cover the bowl with lid or plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Tip the dough in a surface dusted with cornstarch and knead until smooth. Do the poke test to check if the dough is kneaded enough. Put the dough back in the bowl and cover. Let it rest for an hour.
  4. Take half the dough and place it on a cornstarch dusted surface. Using a rolling pin, flatten the tough until very thin. Dust with cornstarch from time to time to prevent it from sticking to the pin or the surface.
  5. Cut into pieces using an 8 cm or 3 inch dumpling cutter.
