How to Make Marinara Sauce

Learn how to make easy, three-ingredient marinara sauce. Tomatoes, an onion, and garlic are all you need to cook a flavorful, healthy homemade marinara!

Ingredients

  • 1 sweet onion small diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a small saucepan over low-medium heat, sweat the onions for about 4 minutes.
  2. Add garlic, and cook until lightly golden brown, about 4 minutes.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes. Yields about 2 cups.
  4. Serve over your favorite pasta or in other dishes.

Notes

  • Storage: Four days is considered its optimal fridge life. If you freeze, use within six months for best taste and texture.
