How to Make Simple Syrup (Recipe)

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar or turbinado, demerara
Instructions
- Set a small saucepot over high heat. Add the water and sugar to the pot.
- Stir and bring to a boil. Once boiling, stir, then remove from heat. (If infusing herbs, add them to the hot simple syrup.)
- Cool to room temperature, then place in an airtight container.
Notes
- Keep simple syrup in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 weeks.
- Looking for a Sugar-Free, Low Carb, or Keto Simple Syrup? Simply swap the sugar for an equal amount of keto-friendly sugar substitute, like monk fruit sweetener or erythritol. Then stir in 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum for thickening.
