How To Make The Best Tzatziki Sauce
This tzatziki sauce features plain Greek yogurt combined with shredded English cucumber, fresh dill, garlic, olive oil, and lemon zest and juice. The sauce is creamy and refreshing with a balanced tang from lemon and yogurt and herbal notes from dill. It can be used as a dip, sauce, or condiment.
Ingredients
- 1 cup yogurt plain, Greek
- 1 cup English cucumber shredded
- 1 lemon zested + 1 tablespoon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dill fresh, chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Shred the cucumber with a cheese grater. Zest and juice the lemon. Then chop the dill and garlic.
- Set out a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add the yogurt, shredded cucumber, lemon zest, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, olive oil, chopped dill, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well. Then salt and pepper as needed. You can also add additional lemon juice if you so desire.

- Store the tzatziki tightly covered in the refrigerator and consume within 4 days for best quality.
