In the Oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 350˚F.
  2. Place the sesame seeds on a quarter rimmed baking sheet and shake it around to evenly distribute the sesame seeds in a single layer.
  3. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until they become fragrant and golden brown. Enjoy warm or store for later use at room temperature for up to 3 months.
On the Stovetop
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sesame seeds to the dry pan and toast for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently until they become fragrant and golden brown. Enjoy warm or store for later use at room temperature for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Storage: Homemade toasted sesame seeds can last typically around 2-3 weeks, when stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place such as the pantry. If stored in the fridge or freezer, they can last up to a few months.
