Iced Tea with Medjool Date Syrup

This delightful recipe is easy to follow and perfect for any occasion.

Servings: 1 1/2 cup medjool date syrup
Course: Drinks, Condiments
Cuisine: Vegan, gluten-free

Ingredients

  • 10-12 Medjool dates pitted
  • 1 cup water at room temperature, boiled
  • 1 L iced tea 1 teabag per 1 cup water

Instructions

To make the date syrup:
    Cup of Yum
  1. Soak the medjool dates overnight (6-8 hours) in 1 cup boiled water (room temp). Transfer to a food processor or blender and process until thin and runny. Transfer to a sterilized jar or container and use within a week.
  2. To sweeten your iced tea, add desired amount. I used about 1 heaping tbsp per glass, but if you like your tea sweeter, add more. Make sure to stir before drinking or else the date fibre will settle at the bottom and you'll get a mouthful of sweet date purée at the bottom of your glass. Also great on pancakes, toast, crackers, and can be used to sweeten baked goods as well.
