Ingredients

Pretzel layer
  • 2 cups pretzel twists
  • 6 tbsp salted butter melted
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (3.4) oz box cheesecake instant pudding mix unprepared
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 28 oz strawberry pie filling you'll only need about two cups

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place the pretzels into a ziploc bag and using a rolling pin crush the pretzels into small pieces.
  2. In a medium bowl mix together crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar until they are fully coated in the butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl and with an electric mixer, whip together the heavy cream, pudding mix, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Place the whipped cream mixture into a ziploc bag and cut a large slit in the corner of the bag.
  4. Add about 2 tablespoons of the pretzel crumb mixture into 7 (4oz) mason jars.
  5. For the next layer, add 2 tablespoons of the strawberry pie filling.
  6. Pipe the whipped cream onto the strawberry layer. Repeat all three layers one more time.
  7. Use the rest of the pretzels and some fresh strawberries to garnish the salads.

Notes

  • Ingredient Notes:
  • Notes:
  • Pretzel twists – I used Itty Bitty Minis, but you can use whatever you like for the buttery pretzel crust. They’ll be crushed anyway!
  • Heavy whipping cream – Ideally you want to use heavy whipping cream, not just regular cream or whipped topping. If you can't find heavy whipping cream, regular cream will work - it just won't be as light and fluffy.
  • Cheesecake pudding mix – make sure you’re using the instant kind AND that you’re using just the dry mix, not the actual pudding. If you can’t find cheesecake, vanilla works as well but isn’t quite the same flavor.
  • Strawberry pie filling – I use canned filling to make this as easy as possible, but if you have a homemade filling you’d like to use, go for it! You’ll need about two cups of strawberry filling, whether it's fresh or canned.
  • You can also make strawberry pretzel salad in a large trifle dish, sort of like a parfait! Use a serving spoon to portion out.
