Ingredients

  • ¾ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce or more
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onions diced into ~1cm pieces
  • 3 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1-1½ lb flank steak ¼ inch slices
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 large broccoli crown cut into florets
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp cold water to thicken the sauce if you would like a thicker sauce.
  • optional: toasted sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds.

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Mix together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sriracha. Set aside.
  2. On sauté mode, add in the olive oil then onions and garlic. Sauté for two minutes or until the onions have softened.
  3. Add in the sliced beef (seasoned with salt and pepper) and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Once the beef has browned a bit (no need to fully brown the beef), add in the beef broth mixture.
  5. Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set it to sealing, and press the manual button. Set the Instant Pot to pressure cook for 11 minutes.
  6. Once the 11 minutes is up, quick release the steam. Add in the broccoli and close the lid to let the leftover steam cook the broccoli, around 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add in a cornstarch slurry if you wish for the sauce to be thicker. Top off with a dash of toasted sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds as garnish.
