Instant Pot Lamb Bhuna Curry
Instant Pot Lamb Bhuna. How to make a delicious lamb bhuna curry in the instant pot pressure cooker. Inspired by the lamb bhuna episode of Gavin & Stacey, this lamb bhuna is served with instant pot pilau rice and ideal for a Saturday night fakeaway at home.

Ingredients
Kitchen Gadgets:
- Instant Pot

Instant Pot Lamb Bhuna Ingredients:
- 1 medium onion
- 400 g lamb chunks
- 1 Cans Tinned Tomatoes
- 450 ml lamb stock
- 2 Tbsp Greek yoghurt
- salt & pepper
Bhuna Seasonings:
- ½ Tbsp chilli powder
- ½ Tsp Turmeric
- 4 cardamom pods
- 3 cloves
- 2 Tbsp cumin
- 2 Tbsp Coriander
- 1 Tsp nutmeg
- 2 Tsp Garlic puree
- 2 Tsp grated ginger
Instructions
- Peel and dice an onion and sauté in the instant pot.
- Add in your cubed lamb and brown with the onion. Season the lamb well with salt and pepper.
- Add to the instant pot your various seasonings and mix well. Add in tinned tomatoes and lamb stock and mix well
- Place the lid on the instant pot and cook for 30 minutes on meat/stew setting. When it beeps use quick pressure release.
- Drain the juices from the instant pot and put the leftover lamb stock to one side. Add the lamb back into the instant pot and stir in Greek yoghurt.
- Load onto plates with pilau rice and enjoy!

Notes
- Swap. If you don’t have lamb stock swap it for an extra can of tinned tomatoes.
- Spicy. Note that this curry is spicy. Reduce the chilli powder if you prefer a mild curry.
- Stock. I could cook the lamb in less juices and half the tinned tomatoes and then wouldn’t need to drain. But the stock is fantastic for the next time you make a lamb curry and makes your lamb dishes taste amazing. If you don’t want to do this half the stock/tinned tomatoes in this recipe.
- Rice. I love to make instant pot pilau rice. We recommend it for pairing with our instant pot curries.
