Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups wild rice blend
  • 2 cups water or broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt optional, adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil optional

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add the wild rice blend to a strainer, and rinse it under water till the water runs clear.
  2. Transfer the rinsed wild rice blend to the steel insert of your Instant Pot.
  3. Add the water or broth for cooking the rice.
  4. Optionally, add a tablespoon of butter or olive oil to the pot. You can also add some salt to it according to your taste.
  5. Pressure cook for 20 minutes on High Pressure. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes. Then manually release any remaining pressure, and open the lid.
  6. Fluff the wild rice blend with fork and enjoy!

Notes

  • Pro-tip: Take the instant pot steel insert out so that the bottom layer of rice does not overcook and stick to the pot.
  • Seasoning: Do not over-season the wild rice as you'll be serving it with other flavorful main dishes.
