Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1-2 Jalapeno peppers (use 1 for less heat)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add the ketchup to a high speed blender or food processor.
  2. Roast the jalapeño peppers on the grill, on a grill pan, or over the open flame on your gas stove. You can also blacken them under the broiler. It will only take a minute or two for the pepper to get blackened. Remove the stem and slice the peppers into thick slices. Add to the blender, seeds and all. Note: you will not peel these peppers.
  3. Blend the ketchup and peppers in a blender or food processor until smooth. Add more ketchup if it's too thick. One pepper will make a mild ketchup, I used two. If you use two peppers you will probably want to add more ketchup to thin it.
  4. Keep refrigerated and use within a few weeks.
