Jello Shots
Jello Shots are a fun, gelatin-based treat combining flavored gelatin with vodka. The mixture is poured into small cups and chilled until set, creating individual servings with a firm yet jiggly texture and a balanced boozy flavor, offering a unique party snack or festive addition to gatherings.
Ingredients
- 3 oz gelatin dessert see note 1, package
- 1 cup water boiling
- 1 cup vodka (see note 2)
Instructions
- In a saucepan over high heat, bring 1 cup water to a boil. Meanwhile, place the jello in a large glass measuring cup or bowl.
- Pour the boiling water carefully into the jello and stir until the jello is disolved. Stir in vodka.
- Pour the jello mixture into disposable 2-ounce portion cups or shot glasses, and refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
Notes
- Any 3-ounce gelatin flavor works; choose based on preference and color scheme.
- Vodka is standard, but other liquors like tequila or bourbon can be substituted.
- One 3-ounce box yields about 10 Jello Shots in 2-ounce cups.
- For layered shots, let the first layer set in the fridge before adding a different colored gelatin layer.
- Prepare up to 3 days ahead and store in airtight containers refrigerated for up to 4 days.
- Sugar-free gelatin can be used as a substitute following the package instructions.
- Gelatin sheets require blooming in a mixture of vodka and juice with prepared simple syrup.
