Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan.
  2. Add garlic and sauté until brown.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and reduce heat.
  4. Simmer for 15 minutes until thickened

Notes

  • Store the Kansas City Barbecue Sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. Allow it to cool before refrigerating.
  • Freezing is not recommended due to the vinegar content. Reheat gently on the stove if needed.
