Keto Sausage Balls Recipe

Keto Sausage Balls are the best way to satisfy a savory craving with a simple snack. It's so quick and easy to mix ground sausage with flour, cheese, and seasonings, and then bake them in the oven until they are a perfect golden brown.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground sausage
  • 1 cup almond flour fine
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or Monterrey Jack
  • 4 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 2 tsp. ranch seasoning mix homemade or store-bought
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes optional
  • 3 Tbsp. green onions finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl. Using a spatula, mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Scoop out 1½ tablespoons of the mixture and then roll it into a ball. Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining mixture. You should end up with 24 sausage balls.
  4. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, flipping the sausage balls over halfway through. For an extra crispy exterior, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve the sausage balls with a sprinkle of additional green onions and toothpicks.

Notes

  • How to prep ahead of time: This recipe is perfect to meal prep. You can make the filling and leave it in the fridge until you're ready to shape and bake. Or, you can completely prepare them up to baking and store them in the fridge.
  • How to store: Keep leftover sausage balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days.
  • How to freeze: These sausage balls can be frozen baked or raw. If you freeze them uncooked, flash freeze in a single layer for a couple of hours, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag. These will keep uncooked for up to 4 to 6 months or cooked for up to 2 to 3 months.
  • How to reheat: You can toss these sausage balls in the microwave to warm back up. If you need to reheat a large batch, use a 325℉ oven.
