Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 cups cabbage finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup carrot shredded
  • 2 tablespoons onion minced

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Add the finely chopped cabbage, shredded carrot, and minced onion to the dressing. Toss well to coat all the vegetables evenly.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld and cabbage to crisp.
