Kid Friendly BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • ½ teaspoon liquid smoke

Instructions

Prep:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the seasonings: salt, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. 
Cook:
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the tomato puree, honey, maple syrup, white vinegar, tomato paste, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, fish sauce, and liquid smoke. Use a whisk to combine the ingredients. 
  2. Add the seasonings and bring the sauce to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to cook it down.
  3. Let the bbq sauce cool down completely before pouring it into a jar. Refrigerate it for up to a week.
