Korean BBQ Grilled Salmon

This grilled salmon recipe is topped with delicious homemade Korean BBQ sauce. It's easy to make and only takes 30 minutes to prepare and grill!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp chili paste
  • ½ tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 green onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 lb salmon

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan combine the first 11 ingredients of the BBQ sauce and bring to a boil, cook 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and water, add this mixture to the boiling sauce.
  3. Whisk to combine well, reduce heat to medium and cook 3-4 minutes.
  4. Turn the heat off and set the sauce aside to cool.
  5. Light the grill and bring to a medium-high heat.
  6. Place the salmon in a foil basket and pour half of the Korean BBQ sauce over the salmon.
  7. Reserve the other half of the sauce for later.
  8. Place the salmon on the grill in the foil basket.
  9. Grill for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove from the grill and top with the remaining BBQ sauce.
