Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
For the Korean sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic pressed
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 2 teaspoons water
Garnish
  • 3 green onions thinly sliced

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Prepare the Korean sauce by combining the soy sauce, brown sugar, fresh garlic, ginger, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Whisk until combined. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until it becomes a thin paste. Then stir it into the Korean sauce.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium high heat, breaking the meat up with the spoon as it cooks, until no longer pink.
  3. Add the Korean sauce to the beef and bring to a simmer. Cook about 5 more minutes or until the sauce begins to thicken.
  4. Remove the Korean Beef from the heat and garnish with green onions. Serve over rice, cauliflower rice, or as a lettuce wrap.
