Ingredients
Per sandwich
- 2 lices bread of your choice
- 2 lices leftover ham / gammon
- 1 cup grated cheese (I like using a combination of mozzarella, cheddar and Havarti)
- 1 tbsp preserves (onion jam, cranberry sauce, etc.)
- 2 tsp butter
Instructions
- Spread the preserves on both slices of bread.
- Layer cheese and slices of ham together on bread of your choice then butter the outsides of each sandwich generously.
- Place the sandwich in a large pan set over medium heat and cover with a lid.
- This will allow the cheese to melt quicker without burning the outside of the sandwich.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp with perfectly melty interiors.
- Remove from the pan and allow to rest for a 1-2 minutes before slicing and serving.
