Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500g) Shrimp shelled and deveined, tail-on
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 dashes ground black pepper
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoon unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped thymes
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped Italian parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Defrost the shrimp, then rinse with cold water and pat them very dry with paper towels. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Add the thyme, oregano, parsley, and lemon juice to the melted butter. Stir to combine well and set aside.
  3. Heat a skillet (preferably cast iron) over high heat. Once the skillet is heated, add the olive oil and swirl it to coat the bottom evenly. Add the shrimp and cook without stirring for about 1–2 minutes on each side until they are cooked through. Pour in the lemon herb butter and let it sizzle for a moment. Turn off the heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can be creative with the herbs. Use whatever you have: rosemary, basil, chives, etc. Combine at least 2 to 3 herbs for amazing flavors and aromas. I buy all my shrimp from Target, the brand is Market Pantry in the frozen food aisle. You can get it for as low as $6.95 per pack (during sales).
