Ingredients

  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Whip the cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
  2. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream.
  3. Whip for 5 minutes until light and fluffy.

Notes

  • Be careful not to overwhip the frosting, as it can cause the cream cheese to become too soft and the frosting to lose its structure.
  • This frosting is sturdy enough to hold up between cake layers, making it an excellent choice for layered cakes without being overly heavy.
  • Adjust the amount of powdered sugar to suit your taste. For a less sweet frosting, reduce the sugar slightly, but keep in mind it may affect the texture.
  • For a lactose-free version, use lactose-free cream cheese and butter.
