Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup snow peas halved on a diagonal
  • 1 cup Napa cabbage shredded
  • 1 bell pepper seeded and cut into matchstick sized pieces, small red
  • 4 green onions thinly sliced on a diagonal
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated fresh
  • 4 cloves garlic minced or grated
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles cooked to al dente, or thin spaghetti noodles
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil toasted

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Heat a wok or a large skillet over high heat. When the pan is hot, add the oil.
  2. Immediately add the snow peas, cabbage, red bell pepper and green onions. Cook for 5 minutes, or until slightly softened. Add the ginger and the garlic and cook for 2 more minutes.
  3. Add the cooked noodles and toss to combine.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and sesame oil. Add the sauce to the pan and toss until the noodles are coated.
  5. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Thin spaghetti noodles can be substituted for the lo mein noodles if you can’t find them.
  • This recipe has been updated since it was first published. The original recipe used 16 oz of noodles, and did not have the cabbage, sugar, or oyster sauce. The sesame oil was also cut down to 1 teaspoon.
