Loco Moco
Loco moco is a traditional Hawaiian dish that is prepared with white rice topped with a hamburger patty, a fried egg and beef gravy.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1½ cup white rice (long grain)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 white onion , chopped
- 5 tablespoons butter
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Cook the rice in a pot with boiling water, according to the instructions of the package.
- Drain and keep warm.
- In a non-stick cooking pot over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the flour, mix well and cook, stirring to make a roux.
- Add the beef broth and simmer for 20 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring regularly until thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper and keep warm.
- If the sauce is not thick enough, add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch diluted in a little hot water and stir until thickened.
- Mix the onion and the ground beef, then season with salt and pepper.
- With your wet hands, form 4 hamburger patties.
- Add 1 tablespoon of butter to a pan and melt on low heat.
- Add the beef patties and cook covered, about 3 minutes on each side for rare steaks (or more according to taste).
- Meanwhile, add 2 tablespoons of butter to a pan and fry the eggs for about 3 minutes.
- Add rice to the center of each plate.
- Place the hamburger patty on top.
- Top with the gravy and finally place a fried egg on top of the steak.
- Serve immediately.
