Ingredients

  • 150 gms butter 5 1/3 oz., or vegetable spread
  • 100 gms gluten-free flour 3 1/2 oz., and/or low fodmap flour
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp clove powder
  • 1 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala low fodmap
  • ½ tsp black pepper ground
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

Notes

  • This roux will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks. You can also put it in a freezer ziplock bag and keep it in the freezer. It will keep for a couple of months.
  • I prefer to line the container with baking paper as I find it easier to remove the roux from it than from cling wrap.
  • Each piece is enough for 1 person.
