Ingredients

  • 2 cups light brown sugar , packed
  • 5 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 cup butter unsalted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 1 cup walnuts coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with foil and grease well with butter.
  2. In a large pot add the brown sugar, evaporated milk, and butter.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce to medium-low and continue to boil for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Turn off heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and maple extract.
  6. Pour mixture into stand mixer and start mixing on a low speed for 30 seconds.
  7. Raise speed to medium and mix for 2 minutes until glossy.
  8. Add in the walnuts and stir to combine.
  9. Pour mixture into baking dish and spread evenly.
  10. Let cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate overnight.
