Margarita is a cocktail invented by an American in Mexico, made with tequila and lime juice, often served with salt on the rim of the glass.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. triple sec , preferably Cointreau
  • 1 oz. lime juice , freshly squeezed
  • salt fine
  • ice cubes
  • 1 lice of lime vfor garnish

  • Cocktail strainer , strainer
  • Citrus squeezer
  • Traditional margarita glass

Instructions

  1. Before making the margarita, place the glass in the freezer to cool.
  2. Rub the edges of the margarita glass with a wedge of lime then dip the moistened edges in fine salt.
  3. Pour the tequila, triple sec and lime juice into a shaker filled with a few ice cubes.
  4. Shake for a few seconds.
  5. Place the colander on the shaker, then pour the content into the margarita glass (discard the ice cubes).
  6. Decorate the edge of the cup with a slice of lime.
