McCormick Taco Seasoning Recipe

Make your own Taco Seasoning at home that tastes just as good *if not better* than anything you could buy at the store. Hello, Taco Tuesday!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp yellow cornmeal finely ground
  • 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano Mexican Oregano is preferred, but not required
  • 1 tsp salt course ground kosher
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Measure out all spices and ingredients into a small bowl. Stir to combine.
  2. Store in an airtight container in a cool dark place.

Notes

  • One recipe makes 3 1/2 Tablespoons of seasoning, enough for 1 lb of taco meat of your choice. Add 3/4 cups water and simmer.
