Ingredients

  • 1 potato peeled and diced, medium
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 pie crusts refrigerated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Boil the diced potato until tender, about 5 minutes, then drain and mash.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and pork with onions and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the mashed potato, thyme, sage, cloves, salt, pepper, and water. Cook until well combined.
  4. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Fill with the meat mixture, then top with the second crust. Seal edges and cut slits in the top crust.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Let cool before serving.
