Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or glass jar, combine the heavy cream and buttermilk, stirring well to mix.
  2. Cover the mixture loosely with plastic wrap or a lid, and let it sit in a warm spot in your kitchen for 12 to 24 hours until it thickens.
  3. After the resting period, stir in the lime juice and salt until well combined.
  4. Use the crema immediately or store it in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 2 weeks.
