Microwave Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

  • 4 lices white bread
  • 6 lices Red Leicester
  • 1 Tsp margarine
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 Tsp Salad Cream/Mayonnaise
  • ¼ Tsp basil

Instructions

  1. Place slices of bread on your bread board and spread margarine or butter over them. Then add a layer of sliced cheese.
  2. Top the cheese with sliced tomatoes, followed by a sprinkle of dried basil and then cover with salad cream or mayonnaise.
  3. Add the top layer of bread and place on a plate.
  4. Add the plate to the microwave and microwave for 90 seconds to 2 minutes depending on your microwave wattage before serving.

Notes

  • Cheese. You can use any favourite cheese. We used red Leicester but double Gloucester, cheddar, edam or gouda would work well.
  • Wattage – The cook time for your grilled cheese will vary depending on your wattage. Our 800w microwave cooked the grilled cheese in 2 minutes.
