Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 graham cracker, crushed to crumbs
- 1 large egg, whisked
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 4 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- kosher salt
- 4 large (or 32 mini) marshmallows
Instructions
- Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in one of the mugs for 20 seconds or until melted. Add the graham crackers and stir to combine. Transfer half of the graham cracker crumbs into the second mug and press down into the bottoms of each mug.
- Melt remaining 3 tablespoons butter in a bowl in a microwave for 20-30 seconds or until melted. Add milk and egg and whisk to combine.
- Add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt into the bowl and whisk until smooth.
- Divide 1/4 of the batter into each mug, top with 8 mini marshmallows or 1 large marshmallow, divide remaining batter between the mugs and finally top with additional 8 mini marshmallows or 1 large marshmallow.
- Microwave the mugs for 1 minute to 1:15 watching towards the end to make sure they don’t overflow.
- Carefully remove your mug from the microwave (it'll be hot!), and let it cool slightly. Grab a spoon and dive into pure s'mores bliss.

Notes
- Watch the Microwave: Microwave times can vary, so keep an eye on your mug cake to avoid overflow. Better to start with shorter bursts and add more time if needed.
- Get Creative: Don't hesitate to customize your mug cake. Add crushed nuts, a drizzle of caramel, or even a scoop of ice cream on top for an extra indulgent treat.
- Texture Alert: If you prefer a gooey, molten center, slightly undercook your mug cake. For a cake-like texture, cook it a bit longer.
- Safety First: Mug cakes can get very hot, so be cautious when handling your mug after microwaving. Allow it to cool for a minute or two before digging in.
