Ingredients

  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper adjust to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Season with salt and pepper lightly.
  2. Place both halves in a microwave-safe dish, cut side down. If both halves don't fit in your microwave plate, cook them separately.
  3. Microwave on high for 7-12 minutes or until fork-tender. The time will vary depending on the size of your squash.
  4. Let it cool, then scrape the squash into strands. Serve in your favorite way!

Notes

  • Ensure even cooking by placing squash halves cut sides down in a microwave-safe dish and cover with a microwave-safe lid or wrap to trap steam. This will help speed up the cooking process.
  • Take care while cutting the squash, and use a sharp knife.
  • Enhance flavor with a drizzle of olive oil or butter for a golden, crisp edge.
  • Allow squash to stand for at least five minutes to complete the cooking process.
