Mini Brie en Croute

Mini Brie en Croute are bite-sized puff pastry parcels filled with whole rounds of Brie cheese. The cheese is enveloped in flaky, golden pastry squares twisted at the top to seal in the melting cheese. Baked until browned, these small pastries offer a rich, creamy center with a crisp pastry exterior, ideal as warm appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 16 Brie cheese mini rounds
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 Tbsp water for brushing

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. set oven to 400F
  2. When the pastry has thawed, lay it out on a floured surface. Roll it out gently into a 12x12 square. You can use your hands at the end to get it just right. Cut the sheet into sixteen 3" squares.
  3. Lay a Brie round in the center of each square, and bring up the corners to meet in the middle. You can do a little stretching--- it won't tear the dough. Twist the ends together to secure.
  4. Set the pastries on a parchment or silicone lined baking sheet and lightly brush with the egg mixture.
  5. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until the pastries are golden browned.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite jam.
