Ingredients

  • ½ cup milk or almond milk
  • 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup espresso or regular coffee, strong brewed
  • milk for topping (optional, frothed; or whipped cream
  • chocolate chips optional, or grated chocolate

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Mix milk, cocoa powder, honey and vanilla extract in a pot over medium low heat until you have a gentle simmer. Stir until honey and cocoa powder dissolve and sauce is completely smooth.
  2. Stir in brewed espresso and pour into a cup.
  3. Top with some frothed milk and sprinkle some chocolate chips or grated chocolate on top if desired.
  4. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Choose quality ingredients: Use freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee and high-quality cocoa powder or chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Temperature matters: Avoid overheating the milk or coffee, as it can scorch the flavors. Keep milk around 140–155 degrees Fahrenheit for the best taste.
  • Use real chocolate: Melt dark or milk chocolate directly into your coffee for a luxurious and authentic mocha flavor.
  • Try vegan mocha coffee: Plant-based milk like almond, oat, or coconut milk can add their own distinct flavors, making your mocha even more exciting.
  • This recipe makes enough for one hot mocha coffee. It is easily doubled.
