Molasses Crinkle Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  1. In a stand mixer, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Add the egg and molasses and mix until combined.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon and ginger. Add to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Cover and chill for 2 hours.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  4. Scoop dough using a medium (I used a 1½ tablespoon size) cookie scoop and roll into balls. Roll in bowl of powdered sugar and set on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes and let cool for a minute before moving to a wire rack.
