Ingredients
- 1 1 cup 100% carrot juice (see note)
- 1-2 1-2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- 1 1 orange peeled
- ½ ½ lime peeled
- 1 1 soft ripe pear, cored and cut into quarters
- 1 to 2 1 to 2 handfuls fresh spinach
- 1 1 frozen banana
- 1 1 cup frozen blueberries or strawberries
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth (if you have a Blendtec, it works best to combine them in the order listed - liquids at the bottom, frozen at the top).
Cup of Yum
Notes
- Adaptable: this recipe is very adaptable (just like a lot of other smoothie recipes) but I usually make it pretty close as written. Sometimes I'll sub out the carrot juice for a mango blend (I like the Bolthouse brand because they are organic and 100% juice and since I don't have a juicer, I stock up on them at Sam's Club where they are a bit more cost efficient). And other times I'll use an apple instead of a pear but otherwise it's pretty much the same makeup.
- Lime: the lime is my favorite part - it adds such a wonderful refreshing flavor to the smoothie!
- Ice: also, if you want the smoothie a bit more ice/thick, you can add a handful of ice cubes into the mix.
